need advice on what tires to buy I will show below a picture of my old tires. I want to get a pair of separate tires for highway driving ..something that will be good with low drag. Possible white walls .

Original tire size  235/75r15  i think.

most tires are rated for what theyre good for. but the smoother less aggressive looking ones are the ones you want to look for

that is picture of 16.5in wheels with 9.50r16.5 tires.  Both are hard to come by now.  Are you looking to replace both wheels and tires?

THankS Goatman. 16.5in wheels with 9.50r16.5 tires. I dont want to replace the wheels i just want a tire that will be good for highway and not the offroad all terrain tires that i have now. I want a more classic look like the original tires that came with the 73s with whitewalls

Sticking with 16.5s will give you very few options for tires at all, let alone in such a small size.  I would look around local shops just to see what you can even still get these days and pick whatever you can afford.  Ordering online almost always costs more than buying in store when you account for mount/ balance.  Last I knew BFG, Cooper and Goodyear still offer 16.5s I just don't know how small they go.

It would probably be cheaper to replace tires and rims as 16.5 is really oddball nowadays. I don't even think you can get a whitewall in that size due to the fact that they are LT 10 ply tires. Also be aware that 16.5 tires don't have beadlocks. If the tires get to low or you air them down the tire will pop off the bead and you will instantly lose all air pressure. I have even seen them pop off the bead while sitting in the driveway if they get low.
