May seem like a strange question but does anyone know how much a stock 305 engine would weigh? Heads and manifolds removed as well as accesiories.

i would estimate 500lbs.

Because a stock 305 with heads and intake weighs 621.  So heads at 40lbs per piece and intake at 40 =120lbs.

621-120=500.

Why do you need to know?

You know, unless you're gonna run the sump pump with it, you're gonna have to take it back UP the steps someday too.:lol

Take the crank and pistons out and 2 guys could carry it downstairs.

Gotta elevator in your house????   If you need an engine in your basement to replace your washing machine motor or something, a Briggs and Stratton will be easier to use. :rollin

Just drag it to the door way, reach underneath it, grab it and heave it over. At this point, let gravity do all the work.....:rollin

Find you a big pipe to sit it on in front of your house on the curb and leave the heads and oil pan and make it look like it will start up and on top of the air cleaner put you a mail box.
