Title: Spray paint marking too easy
Post by: Rtlane on July 31, 2019, 10:55:29 am
I test painted an old inner door panel with only canyon black satin rustoleum 2x painters mark spray paint. When I do the final permanent paint job on my actual panels, i’ll be using adhesion promotor, then the black paint, then clear.

It has been a week since i painted and the test panel is easily marked with light fingernail scratch (see photo). What is the cause or is it because I didn’t clear?

Clear will help however if you want it durable consider a 2K urethane.

I would suggest using the rustoleum vinyl dye. Works very nice with proper prep.

Use vinyl & fabric paint instead or check out SEM paints.
