Title: 14 Bolt Semi Float Pieces
Post by: chili_mac11 on October 25, 2019, 02:26:36 pm
Hey guys, total noob here. I was pulling the shafts from the carrier in order to remove my backing plates so that I could swap to discs. As I was pushing in the axle to remove the c-clip the pieces pictured dropped out. I know where they go but I don’t know how to get them back under the gears. Again, total noob, this is the first differential I’ve opened(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191025/44581f6e2c82ba3bc561416bbf2e0a13.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191025/9d22ca681c1f02678a9b49cc6532c677.jpg)

Yeah I was quick to freak out. Remove the whole carrier, reassemble, put the pin back up through the middle to hold everything in place, re-install

Haha thanks Shifty. This is my first project so I get pretty nervous when I’m tearing into this stuff. I’ve probably got at least 500 pictures on my phone just to show where stuff goes when I finally put it all back together

Make sure you set your carrier preload correctly if you remove the carrier.
