Title: Back to 5 trucks...Just can't stop looking on Marketplace...
Post by: zieg85 on January 21, 2020, 07:12:55 pm
Picked up a fairly rust free 87 R20 Silverado.  Engine is supposed to be a 5.7L, I'll run the numbers to verify.  My first experience in TBI, gonna need help on this one.

Rear bumper looks good enough for my other truck.  Going to take a few parts off this one for sure.

Like many of my Buddies, I'm a "Big 3" guy.  I've owned and driven trucks from The General, those of the Ram variety, and even some Blue Ovals.

One thing I've noticed is that, no matter brand loyalty or current ownership, all seem to agree that those are the nicest OEM wheels that The General ever offered.

The truck looks great, Z85.

Thanks, I agree.  They look great on that era truck.  Nice polished aluminum are best.  These are powder coated to match the center caps

I'll be darned...I didn't notice they were powder-coated.  They look even nicer, now that I know.  :)

My Buddy (Dan) is a powder-coater.  I keep his mortgage paid, one 8-lug dually wheel at a time...

Great to have that connection.  When I was working for Sherwin Williams who sold powder I knew some shops that did that type of fill in work.  As long as it was the same color as a paying customer and there was the room in the oven they took care of "Gov't" jobs.  Greatest expense the setup time and oven costs for the gas.  Powder is cheap
