I found a passenger fender from an 84 maybe? I’m not 100% sure. The antenna mount looks to be original like it came from the factory. The mount is recessed with threaded bolt holes. Has anyone seen this before? There is no antenna now just the mount. I don’t want to weld it shut as it looks oem and would be cool to replace the antenna and keep it there.

any pictures? Fender antenna started in 1989 so it may have a newer fender or one from those years. Also some windshield antenna's was junk and the dealership often installed one instead of a replacement windshield in a new truck

I’ll post pics as soon as I can. X2 on the windshield antenna. I don’t really use the radio much. Well the am/fm anyways. It just looks different. It also seems like more work to cover it up than to find another one. I just thought I’d give it a chance.

73 up could have a fender antenna, windshield antenna or no antenna.

SOLVED!!!
Apparently someone put a 91 suburban passenger fender on the donor truck I removed it from. 😡 it took awhile to get ahold of a stock antenna assembly as these parts/trucks aren’t Readily available anymore
I installed the mounting base, ran the cable, and ditched the windshield antenna cable
I even installed a cute little antenna to show it off. I’m happy I didn’t waste the time and work to cover it up.I guess in the end it helps to be patient and persistent
