Welcome from SoCal!

Sounds like it's starving for gas.

Check your fuel pump and filters.

Then check your spell check too!  ::)

Are you still running the electric pump in the tank?

Why would you want to go to a carburetor when your truck came with TBI? Please people, stop the insanity.

i generally agree with this   (example, the j-body i was trying to re-activate until the crisis happeed).   Yet, switching to carb MAY be easier to setup, get it running and diagnose any further issues if one is not familiar with tbi.

i guess what i'm trying to say is take my truck for example:    It's totally carb fuel system, non-computer, no fuel  injection,  no CCC etc.    Worse comes to worse IF it doesn't run right or run at all, i can replace  the carb and or fuel pump.  Or  lines/filters.  Or tank.  And BOOM, i'm back in business.   Not saying this is the best way to go about it, but if i need to get it running again, i could.

If you're not sure how to diagnose/repair TBI, you're lost.    Even though TBI is MUCH simpler than a carb.

But yeah, i generally agree with keeping your car TBI if it originally came with it.

P.S.

i got about 10-15 people  online involved and spent quite a bit of time and effort yet the TBI car is still not running.  Granted i had to stop because other stuff really happened, but the time from when i started to when i stopped is significant.

Contrast this to, i custom built the fuel system on the truck, and got it running in a relatively short amount of time and has run ok for the past 3 years.

i think this is why a lot of people have switched and have thought about switching back to a carb system.

OK, enough ranting.   Don't get me wrong: i LIKE TBI and fuel injection.   Nothing would make me happier than finding a c-20 with an injected 4.3.

So rather than learn something new, you are saying simple minds prefer simple things, like ABC, 123. I get it, however, if you already have a TBI system and undo it because of the fact that you are unwilling to learn that system, then I do not personally agree with it.

TBI is old technology and very easy to work on. Yes you need to invest in a few tools but why not reap the benefits that it does have to offer if you already have the system in place?

You have 10-15 people online trying to help you? Too many cooks in the kitchen. How many qualified mechanics would it take to get the car running in real life? Perhaps you need to seek advice from experts instead of facebook parts cannon bird brains.
