Hi,
i'm just back from lying under my car.
I installed the new clutch and bell housing and then i tried to thread the transmission through the clutch disc into the pilot bushing.
My problem is, that i can't lift the car up, so i put the transmission on to a car jack an then rolled it in direction of its final destination.
the last inch i had to put it manually, but i turned it, put it back and forth but exept that my arms become tired there wasn't any result.
What can i do to get the the drive gear through the clutch disc and into the pilot bushing more easy?
regards
chris

Did you properly center the clutch disc to the pilot bearing using a clutch alignment tool?
-
Hi,
yes the alignment tool was with the clutch kit and i used it.
After i couldn't enter the transmission, i put it back and it wasn't a problem.
Is it a bad idea to do some lube to the drive gear?

Does the alignment tool match the input shaft exactly?

Does the alignment tool match the input shaft exactly?
Good question, I will check this tomorrow, here it's nearly 10 PM.
Thank you!

If it matches, good.
I have put the trans in gear and used a yoke on the drive shaft to turn the input shaft from the output shaft.
Also, if you have a prob with getting that last 1" into the pilot bearing, have someone sit in the drivers seat and depress the clutch.

Hi,
the transmission is back in his position! I checked if the size of drive gear and the allignment tool have the same size ajusted the release bearing once more and, perhaps also because it was the first thing i did at the car, the drive gear slipped throug the clutch.
For the last zentimeter (I don't know how to say 0,39 zoll) i used a small board, 24 long with a score so that it couldn't slip away from the clutch pedalto keep the pedal pushed. Thanks Johnny for this tip!
Thank you all, for your replies and help!
