I have a 1976 c10 250 straight six with a saginaw 3 speed manual transmission. It has a Novak 6263756 bellhousing and an offset mounting starter. Meaning it should be a 168 tooth flywheel. I haven't taken anything apart yet because I don't want it to rust in the week it will take to order the parts. My question is which clutch plate size do I get? I am thinking it's the 11 inch plate but I am unsure, I've read that this bellhousing can accept up to a 12 inch but also heard the flywheel will accept a 10.5 inch plate. With my research I've only more questions than answers! Is there a way to measure either the flywheel or clutch plate without removing it from the truck? I do plan on swapping in a 350 v8 at some point but Idk if that means it will fit with the current trans and clutch setup or not. Please let me know which clutch plate size I need.

Hi,
I don‘t know if its allways the same, but I‘ve the same engine-transmission combination in my 78 truck.
I bought a LUK 04049 Clutch set and it is an 11 Clutch.
If it‘s allways this size in a normal truck and when it needs a 12 or a 10 i can‘t exactly say, but a rockauto the 12 and 10 clutches where offered for Big Ten or Heavy Duty.
Regards
Chris

Thanks Chris. I ended up going with the 11inch and I will see this week if it's right or not haha.
