Title: Spring hangers
Post by: TheBigHat on January 12, 2021, 05:11:08 pm
Hello,

I am need of replacement rear leaf spring hangers for my 78 K20. If anyone knows a spot to look I would appreciate it. I've already been to all the usual spots like  , Classic Industries etc. It's the steel arm that is riveted to the frame and hangs down for the shackle to connect to. Thank you for reading  :)

Rusted pretty badly. The frame rail it's attached to is still solid but down by the bushing there's chunks of what used to be steel :(

No, it doesn't look like too much to do really, just going to jack up the truck by the frame rail, remove the shackle from the spring, death wheel the rivets off, remove the rusted hanger from the frame rail, wire wheel the spot where the old one was, then psst psst some black rustoleum on there. Then, reattach a new hanger with some carbide steel bolts. Replace the old bushings and put the spring back on the new hanger. She'll be brand new all over again! Just need the hangers!
