Does anyone know where you can get the plastic posts (studs) or whatever you call them that stick out the back and goes into the holes on firewall under the windshield. Believe they are plastic. Need about 4 of them!
-
The ones that press in from the inside?
But to answer your question, no I don't. :(
I'm going to need some too so I hope the brain trust comes through... :D
-
Yes! I have looked for them online and at the forum's store to no avail.
-
Do you mean for the cowl seal?
-
No looking to mount the cowl panel to my truck. I got the cowl screen on already. There are OEM holes just under the windshield on cowl where fasteners attach or go through the inside of the cowl panel and goes into the holes just under the windshield on the truck. Cannot find any picks of the fasteners. If anyone has some good pics of them it would help.
-
Ahh you mean these guys?
-
That looks about right! Should attach from the inside of the cowl panel and poke out to go in the firewall hole. Where can those be found?
-
Looks like they are still out of stock. I believe I still have some but will have to check. I had these in my 3D files as well to print. I'll look tonight.

Thanks VZ!

2 are like those pictured, the rest are a push in and very difficult to remove without breaking.
-
Hey Zieg, I have two (one on each end of the Cowl Panel - similar to what VZ showed) and I am missing the four in the middle area. All I am referring to is the side of the cowl that goes on the firewall under the windshield.
-
I have several cowl panels with the factory ones intact. I'll post pix tomorrow of them
-
Thanks VZ, that will be a huge help. Amazing how these small things come back to get you.
-
Okay so there are differences in the cowl panel, mainly for larger wiper hole openings from what I can tell. I don't think we ever did a thread here on the cowl panel differences. Anyway, looks like the earlier version all use the same push in body clip and the later version uses the threaded ones on the ends with a u-nut. See pix
I'll look through my body clips and see what I have.

Believe my truck uses the type in your first three pics. The best, being the white cowl panel (third pic). Wonder where we can get them at and why it is so hard to find them. Seems I am not the only one that needs them. Appears cowl panels are sold, so why not the hardware to mount them.
-
I just went through my body clips and I have about 30 different ones that would do the same job. You should probably just get some body panel clip assortments or just use some push through xmas tree clips. If you push through the small end and slide on the large end, it will be the same end result. I have at least 6 different kits and a box full of clips, door panel, xmas tree etc so perhaps that will be a simple fast fix for you.

Thanks VZ for your help. I found one of the original that came off the cowl that looks like the third pic of the white cowl posted. I will find something that will work. It is a shame I could not find any like the original. Would be a money making opportunity if I had the ability to produce them, since no place has them.

Managed to find a 1989 K10 in the local salvage yard and got a couple of fasteners. The others broke while trying to remove them. Was able to obtain some other goodies and going back tomorrow to get more.

Late to the game on this, but I seem to recall seeing something similar in a Disco product catalog at work. If I get time at work on Friday or this weekend I'll see if I can remember to look.
