Title: GROUND 150 SPLICE - Anyone have a photo?
Post by: amanda454 on February 24, 2021, 02:40:53 pm
Hello there.

Anyone have a photo of how the ground SHOULD look - 150 - Cab left that splices to instrument cluster, radio etc.

Trying to improve mine beyond the corroded wad of old tape seen here. Anyone got a nice photo I can use as a guide?

No photos at hand but what you posted is generally how they appear.  The only thing absent is that the harness is typically wrapped loosely in 1 1/2" wide harness tape or convoluted loom.  The ground connection to the left kick panel/park brake pedal frame is often a 6-post plug-n-play bus bar (below).

Thanks so much for the reply. Found the damaged ground wire gooped up in there that was my problem. Appreciate the pic. That looks like a better deal all the way around.

On the older trucks, like my '75, the single instrument ground wire attached to a post on top of the emergency brake mechanism.  Later on they started installing a grounding point with multiple posts to use for ground wires, like you see in the picture that was posted.
