Hey guys.
73 C20 here with an original and fairly broken gauge cluster that I'm shopping to replace.
I see a few online. Some expensive, some not. Some digital, others not.
I'd like something clean without a brand name printed on the gauges themselves, and was curious about what you guys did/have.

Been shopping around for a new gauge cluster, gauges and styles.
I think I've confirmed the two large gauges to be 5 inches and the smaller four at 2 inches in diameter.
Could anyone confirm this?
Dolphin makes some seriously beautiful stuff, but it's very expensive too.
I suppose the price comes with the quality? Sensitive needles in the gauges?
My price range is more around the Smiths range where I can get a full set for about $50?
I'd spend up to a $100 though for now.
At the moment, I need a new gauge cluster 'shell' or 'housing/case' as mine is cracked at pivotal mounting points.
My thinking is if I can replace the housing and the circuit board on the back, then I can customize the style and color of the gauges and add a tach.
Any thoughts, tips or pitfalls to share?

These Dakota Digital ones look good, but pricey.

Thanks, Diesel. Dakota makes nice stuff- thanks for that.
I'm personally leaning towards the analog side though.
Johnny. Thanks for the link- it led me to new vintage classics page where I saw this photo
of the chrome rims on the gauges, but I believe it's the bezel itself. Super sharp though! Photo attached.
I'm thinking the best first step is the housing/shell that the holds the gauges.
Anybody know if I can buy just the housing/shell somewhere new? Even better with the circuits.
Right now I found this circuit on eBay but its preowned: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-1987-C10-C20-SILVERADO-SIERRA-BLAZER-INSTRUMENT-CLUSTER-PRINTED-CIRCUIT-OEM/333887363335?hash=item4dbd3cd907:g:x-sAAOSwUylgJiae (https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-1987-C10-C20-SILVERADO-SIERRA-BLAZER-INSTRUMENT-CLUSTER-PRINTED-CIRCUIT-OEM/333887363335?hash=item4dbd3cd907:g:x-sAAOSwUylgJiae)
eBay also has many gauges here and there as well, but many feel like they'll lack quality.
So, I'm thinking I can get the housing/shell and circuit ahead of me deciding which gauges to go with.

Another thought.
Is it possible to place your tach on the left and speedometer on the right,
or does the circuit board prevent this?
-
I've got a stock cluster in the garage, will look at the tach circuit later and post.
Meantime here is the replacement I did about 4 years ago...
On the road last Sunday 8)

I believe they sell the gauges at this forum's store. The price will not be any less elsewhere, Dakota controls their purchase price.

Still shopping around for just the housing itself - anyone have any leads?
The circuit board I can find on ebay but that's used.
Any tips always appreciated.

Sorry Spool,
Just looked for my cluster and it must be buried, haven't looked at it for year or more.
I'll be back there this weekend, will see if I can find it.
-
Ah, no worries, Johnny.
I appreciate your time and interest in the thread.
I was hoping others would share pictures of their clusters to get a little thing going here, but oh well..
Hey, by the way - I found that 'hey-your muffler-fix it' commercial and linked it in the other thread.
Very funny.

Thanks for looking up the video, there were a few versions of it, but yours find was classic!
The irony: Biker-'You're a menace to society!'
Don't know if you're a biker, but those words apply to the 'organ donor bikers' now more than ever.
When they blow past me at 125 I worry and hope they make it home... :(
-
I've heard the organ donor comment before.
I had a Suzuki M50 Boulevard that I LOVED dearly. It was an 800.
Short story - I lost the bike (Prudence), but in the end, I got my now truck (Sadie)... So, win!
Next bike will have to be named Eleanor or Lucy.
I used to ride the bike up the coast on the 1- great times.
Look forward to riding again one day when $$ permits.

Thanks, it's now more than bikers!
Can't believe the speed 4 wheeled peeps go! LAWLESS!!!
Still, bikers out speed even these morons!
Look guys and gals, urinate in my Cheerios if you want to, but the way some of you drive puts people and their kids in danger.
Are you going to feel macho knowing you caused grandma or her daughter to roll the SUV because you felt a "need for Speed" with the loss of their children?

This I agree with.
I’m actually intimidated by a Ducati-
But I don’t even have interest for these rice rocket sports bikes that fly over 150. Crazy.
I do wish there was a signal for square body owners passing on the road. Cruisers have two fingers to the ground - ‘keep the shiny side up or keep the two wheels on the ground.’
Whenever I see another square body around LA... it’s usually a pissing contest... haha. The most I get is a head nod back- but hardly friendly.
