Do I really have to go out and measure the inner diameter of the leaf spring eyes? One catalog says it’s either 1 1/2” or 1 3/4” (for ordering new bushings). Other catalogs don’t even mention the two sizes.
-
What are you doing, poly bushings or rubber bushings? HD springs are 1.75"
-
What do you suggest? I have 8 leafs, is that hd or standard?
Thanks...

I would suggest you measure to be sure but you probably have HD springs.
Both have their advantages and drawbacks. Quality rubber bushings will behave like the factory system and I believe that is what you are after? BTW, they are not easy to change, so be prepared if you are doing them yourself.

I will measure them for sure. Thanks for your help on this, will probably go with standard rubber.

What part of the job makes them “not easy?”

They are pressed in and don't just pop out. Same with the shackles. For the shackles, you may just want to get new ones.

Agreed, it’s a lot easier for me to press the “place order” button than end up with bloody knuckles. Lol
