Hey guys I'm new here. I have an 86 c10 I've been working on for a few years and just now getting to the suspension stage. I'm wanting to put either a 2/4 or 3/4 drop on it for now with some decent shocks and then build a 4 link for it later on. I've been looking at either a belltech or a western chassis drop. If anybody has used these on there truck let me know what you think about it and if you have any pics of a 2/4, 3/4 id like to see them. Thanks!

I have used both Belltech and Western Chassis and satified with both.
If the truck has the HD multi stack rear springs I personally wouldn't run a flip kit, but you can with good shocks.
Ridetech makes a kit with really good shocks and springs fr/rr called Street Grip, but it may be to low for your liking.

it does have the layered springs. I took out the overloads but it's not enough. I've looked at those kits but they're a little out of price range right now. My dad is a certified welder and can fab anything so I think we may tackle building a 4link for my 86 and then maybe his 65c10.

I have a spindle/shackle/hanger kit from Western Chassis. Quality parts. Would buy from them again.

4" rear I think the front is 2 ¹/² maybe 2.

Only good one right now. This is 4.5/7. Front tire is 28" tall for reference.

Ok been doing a little research, looking at possibly the 2" drop spindles plus 2" shorter coil springs to give her a 4" drop and still run the stock 15"x 8" rally wheels.
Now for the rear - would like to go 4" lower also to keep the cool old school rake.
What's a good option here?
Lowering shackles?
Or, installing the leaf springs UNDER the axle instead of above it?

Drop kits are typically setup to eliminate the rake and get the truck more level. 2/4, 4/6, 5/7 where the rear is 2" more than the front. If you like the factory rake you would need to adjust the rake accordingly. IF you like the way it rides now shackles and hangers are your only option to acheieve anything other than 4" or less. If you do a flip, you are automatically dropping the truck a minimum of 5-6".
Your options for 4" or less are hangers (have to remove the spring and remove the factory hanger) and Shackles (you have to cut the bed support on SWB) or Run a spring kit.
