Anyone have good tips on getting spark plugs out of the head after the porcilin has blown out. I have already gotton to the point of pounding a 9/16 socket on, didn't work started colaspsing the plug metal. Next step is an easy out, but would like to hear any other ideas.

i would say the ez out is probably your best bet. or im sure you have tried this but maybe an open end wrench.

I hammered a bolt in the plug and spot welded on two sides once, worked good.

heat the spark plug steel shell with a torch....soak it with plenty of good penetrating oil too.

The welded in bolt crossed my mind, there is still quite a bit of metal left there.

Harold, before you try removal, see if you can put a small screwdriver down thru the plug hole to see how far down the piston is. That way you know how far down you can pound in the EZ Out. Ya don't want to punch a hole into the top of the piston
BTW- I hope none of the ceramic went down in the hole. Good luck. I hope you don't have the truck outside! Don St.Clair

None of the ceramic went in, it just blew it out of the steel part of the plug. Truck is inside. Well I am going to try another type of easy out toady. Worked on it last night easy out I had din't work, the welded in bolt didnt work. Broke off more of the plug metal with the first one. Broke the second bolt off.Drilled it out and gave up for the night.
