I have a 1980 Chevy K10 that I just had a new Chevy Performance 350 HO put in. It has approximately 300 miles on it so far and has been puffing white smoke on start up since it was put in No smoke with acceleration or idle. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance

Keep an eye on your coolant levels. Could just be condensate...

Hoe long does it last? You can have a buddy start it and see if it smells like oil.
If so then it's valve stem seals...although the color is blue not white. Sometimes people confuse it though.

Single or dual plane intake?

It only lasts about 4 or 5 seconds and it has the Chevy Performance dual plane intake with the 670 cfm Holley that came with the engine.

Does it do it repeatedly if you sit for let say 30 minutes after a drive to the store, or just first start of the day?

I asked single because looking for oil in the intake runner would be easier with a single plane. You could pull plugs and I can read them for you if you don't know how..

It’ll do it at first start and if it’s been sitting for a bit after it’s been driven but at times it’s not as pronounced. The oil level hasn’t changed any up to this point.

Small bit of oil makes a lot of smoke. Ever drop a little bit of oil on a manifold or header? Next is the smell test and or spark plug reading. If it smells like burnt oil pull the plugs...I'd pull them anyways afterwards..When you pull plugs know where they came from, it can help determine where the problem is.

I’ll do that and let you know, I may pick your brain again when I do it. I appreciate the help!
