i have a 85 c10 pickup with a 350 cid motor and a th350 trans.the 350 trans is slipping pretty bad and i was able to get a recently rebuilt 700r4 trans.is there anything special i need to do or look for when i swap out the trans? i found the length measurements for both trans online and it seems that there is only about a 1/4 inch difference between both trans.would i be able to use the same driveshaft without any alterations?any help or suggestions before i do this would be great.

As long as the tailshafts are the same length (they're either 4
inches or 9 inches long) the trannies will swap. But you have to move the crossmember to the rear about an inch and 1/4. There have been posts on doing this swap- do a search for
transmission swap.
