I’ve always had an aftermarket hood, it looks ok I guess, but the shop up the road has a nice real one for me, and it’s the right one. Solid and clean, minor surface rust. Is $200 a fair price? I’m going to clean it up and prep it real nice for painting.

Yes, keep an eye out for me too. I need a 73-78 hood.
-
Too bad you guys are not closer to Virginia. I could divulge a bone yard where there are a lot of nice ol' square body hoods.

I certainly will, now and then the shop comes across a few squarebody parts. I’m also looking for some nice metal headlight bezel’s. Do you know of any quality metal aftermarket ones? Or, even the real ones of you have them.

If I even set foot in VA, you’ll be the first I notify. Thanks

I could use some fenders, left and right '78. Rust.
What I get for driving on the beach and forgetting to rinse her off. ::)

You and the rest of us. Not sure why no one reproduces them, the demand is there.
-
Well, this same place does have the real headlight bezel’s, but it’s like $500 to re-chrome them! I’d pay $200 but 5 is a little nuts.
Do they have to be chrome, could I clean them up real nice and paint them a gray kinda chrome paint type thing?
-
If you're going to go that route, just use the plastic chrome ones. Would look better than painted.

Ok, I figured that. There are some on eBay.
-
Plastic ones look good.
Do you need round bezels?
-
I'm working with a '80 C10 that came with round headlights.
I found the square baskets, bezels et al to convert.
Will part with the rounds if you are interested.
LMK?
-
The round ones you have are metal or plastic?
-
They should be metal.
Is your picture a subtle nudge to keep it correct?
Didn't 79-80 have squares as an option?
-
No offense to the rectangle 80 guys, but round eye all the way. The single rectangular light was the lower trim level for 81 up, so the one year only option was the intro to the incoming lower trim levels. I don't think the designers thought this through very well IMO. I loved my 1980 C10 round eye. I so regret selling it.
-
Well I better get mine done so I can sell it to you... 8)

My first truck was a 1980 C10 originally a 350 Diesel which ended up with a 400sbc. So many good times and adventures in that bad boy
-
This one will be a sleeper with a 383 tucked inside.
Outside patina, inside engine/hood/bed and interior-BAM!
-
Fwiw The 1980 rectangular basket spots inside a round base, lol.

Yah, round all the way. No offense to the square. If they ever make metal I’ll buy, but for now, plastic. They look real from three feet away, lol
Plenty of real metal Oem on eBay, but to re-chrome costs hundreds I hear, is that right?

Not if you know someone in TJ
