Title: Front axle from dually to a SRW truck
Post by: ToreyC on April 06, 2023, 10:38:29 pm
I’m wanting to see if anybody has ever taken a front axle from a 1 ton dually and installed it on a single rear wheel c10. I have converted my c10 long bed to a 4wd and want to run 1 ton axles. I already bolted up the 14 bolt rear end and I have the 1 ton front end, just need to know if it’ll work. I was told I’d just have to have the hubs machined down to accept a normal rim vs the dually rims. Thanks in advance for any input.

Apparently you can machine down the dually adapters, but usually you just buy SRW hubs. The only difference in the axle is at the hub. Dually's usually do have a larger outer bearing and have a higher weight rating because of it. However, the D60 difference is just the hubs.
