Title: Rochester Carb cleaning
Post by: Mike81K10 on April 13, 2023, 06:33:16 pm
My carburetor I believe needs to be cleaned. It sat for so long and I believe it got gummed up and is not doing right. Do I need to buy a kit to take it apart and clean up the bowl and jets. Not very familiar with taking the carburetor apart!

Probably needs a rebuild. If you are not familiar with rebuilding carbs, find someone that is. IMO!

You can fill the bowl at the forward vent with carb cleaner as you feather the throttle without choking it.

It will pull through all the passages and de-gunk the carb. If that doesn't help than a deeper dive may be in order.

I would use half a can myself if it sat that long.
