I have a '78 Scottsdale Reg Cab. Trying to get my vent windows back in. I was able to get the seals onto the assembly with little problems, just took some time. Not I am trying to get the vent glass into the frames. They do not seem to want to fit in the new frames I got. I have not used any sealer/tape yet, I was just checking the fit of the glass to the frame. Also the frame is not in the assembly yet either, but I did set the fames in the assembly to check fit. My question is;
Are they supposed to be off in the alignment with the frame?
Should I put the frame in the assembly first, then install the glass? Could this be why they seem off?
Any help is much appreciated.

I would have bought the vent windows completely assembled for less head aches! Although some my disagree! Sometimes new glass and new metal frames can be off in size and not match up. Measuring the old ones and comparing is crucial. I had got some door glass rails that was supposed to be for my truck, they had the wrong size channels for the glass and had to return them. They were supposed to be for my year truck but one from a different year worked. I have had my truck since almost new and I know for sure it was the original part on my truck.

Where did you get the frames from? Are they for 73-80 or 81-87?

Precision.
They are for 73-81 (double/triple checked that) and the glass (is for the same years) came out of the truck. The old frames were far beyond repair, so I had to get new.

I had problems with some Precision products. Of course the years makes a big difference on fitment and I found that it appears sometimes it appears manufacturers would use parts from the previous year model on the newer model vehicle to use up the leftover parts. VZ, would have better knowledge of that, just appears that is the case.
