Took out the 50 year old Power Booster and was replacing it with a new one but ran into an issue - the original PB connector (the about 4" part that connects the rod from the PB to the brake pedal arm) will not screw/tread into the new one.
The new PB rod is a smaller diameter than original one and has course threads instead of fine threads.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

If you ordered a Cardone, it should be p/n# 54-71108. What is the code on your old booster (should be a "T3")?
Because 73-74 (assuming by your screename) are all that use the T3 rod, they might have used a more common core to build the new unit with. If the rod is long enough, you may be able to pick up a new yoke at the local hardware store. If you are trying to keep it original, you may have to R & R your unit.
Post the rod code, I'll help where I can.

You are right, the new one is a Cardone 54-71108 and appears to be 3/8" rod.
The original appears to be 7/16". Not sure what the code is, will have to look this weekend (Truck is in neighbors shop.
Thank you
