Title: New Cab Mounts

    Hi Guys,
  I have a 78 C20 Scottsdale long bed, I'm going to replace the OEM mounts and the instructions say that I need to cut the rear mount spacers. I was wondering if any of you guys have cut these spacers. I would like to have a spare pair in case I screw up the cut or if I want to go back to the OEM type. So any brain storms out there, be great to hear from you guys.

I would imagine that these are not factory style mounts but not sure why you would need to cut the spacer.  Maybe its late...
The ones we sell don't require this, so I need more information.

   Hi Captkaos,
 Thanks for writing back, The mounts are Energy Suspension # 3.4103. The instructions say that the rear OEM sleeve/spacer needs to be cut to 3 3/4". I would like to find a pair of OEM Sleeves/spacers before I start this job.

I have Energy mounts to fit to my '76 longbed cab but didn't see anything about cutting the OEM sleeves, I'll have a look tomorrow and check if they are same part number.

I would probably just go and find a spacer tube that fits and use that if you dont want to cut what you have.

My Energy Suspension mounts will be coming out in favor of stock ones....just too squeaky.

Not the first person I have heard say that Shifty.  I historically use PST bushings, but this has been 10 years ago since I had to replace any.  They weren't squeaky.

For quasi-passive compressional applications such as poly cab mounts and most live poly suspension bushings, the squeak suppression provided by Energy Suspension Formula Five Prelube 9.11104 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ens-9-11104) is effective and long-lasting.  However, long-term effectiveness can be limited for some axial suspension bushings, such as sway bar frame mounting bushings, if the bushings present an exceedingly tight fit with high friction and lubricant squeezeout.

Yeah, lubed them up good, just didn't last/wasn't effective.  I should have known better, I had a Chevy II that I did urethane control arm and strut rod rod bushings on, and they were a dang chorus.  My Corvette sway bar bushings are silent, but they are also greaseable.

Finally remembered to get the number off my Energy mounts it's 3.4109G GM CAB MOUNT SET.

3.4103 is for 4x4 trucks, not for a C20...

Just to let you know I have fitted my body mounts and they all went in with hardly a hitch, just had to winch the cab back into position as it slid back as my truck is parked on a slope!
