Title: TH350C wiring
Post by: NWCS on March 28, 2007, 01:30:00 pm
hello everybody.

i have a 1982 Chevy C10 pickup that i bought with the engine and trans just sitting in it. a bunch of wiring has been cut/tossed. i need to know what wires connect to the TH350C transmission. engine is a 305 with an early 327 manifold on it and a quadrajet. my transmission is the 2 wire connector style. i have no idea if this is the orig trans but the gear selector on the dash says overdrive, the tailshaft on the trans does appear to have an OD unit in it, after looking at TH350 pictures the tailshaft has a box before the smooth tail, not like the standard turbo 350 trans. i would like to keep the truck stock and functional for fuel milage.

TH350C doesn't have Overdrive.  It has a lockup converter.  If your dash has Overdrive it came with the 700R4, OR someone possibly switched dash clusters, but it is more likely being an 82 that someone dumped the 700R4 since that was the first year and they didn't hold up well...

You can do what I do.  I have a toggle switch on my 79 that i put a th350c in.  I flip the switch when going over 35 mph  and the rpm's fall.

Go to autozone.com and click on repair info to find the wiring diagrams on your truck. There should be a sticker in the glove box for the RPO codes that will tell you what tranny it had when new.
