hi guys im new but ive been looking around for weeks now.i have a 79 3/4 ton scottsdale and im swaping bodys on to a 83 scottsdale. now the truck has a th400 in it but the new body was set up for a 700r4.now im not sure if some of u guys know in 79 the made a th400 that was down shifted elecrtonicly(spelling) which mine has now to my question when i swap these cabs how do i ge my 400 to down shift again(passing gear)is there a kit out maybe somone know a home fix any and all help would be great. and just to let u know .no my th400 dosent have a kickdown cable nore does it have a spot where one would go. thanks for the help

Yes the TH-400 uses a detent solenoid as opposed to a cable. A switch located on the gas pedal energizes the solenoid when you depress more than 50% throttle or as u set it. it just jumps 12 v to the solenoid. the solenoid is case grounded.

ok so i just need to mount the switch to the 83 then to a 12 volt sorce right

pretty much just make sure you use circuit protection and run the wires carefully.
