Title: Pag or Ester?
Post by: 82silverado on June 14, 2024, 03:24:56 pm
82 silverado. New components throughout. Lines, condenser, evap, drier, compressor. Since there is no mineral oil from R12 should I use pag? And if so which one?

If you've converted to R134a, then pag.  GM uses a lot of 150 weight in the earlier stuff, but if changing to a Sanden, then 100....8 full ounces.

If you're still running r12, then stick with mineral, ester only if absolutely necessary.

Thank you. Glad I asked.  I assumed 46 and bought a couple bottles. Will take them back in the morning. Stock style A6 long compressor.
