Title: Vent window handle question
Post by: IdahoMan on July 07, 2024, 01:16:51 pm

Truck: 81 Silverado. The black washers on the interior side of the vent window handles are breaking apart, and the roll-pin keeps walking out on the driver's side.

Qs:
-What kind of washer do I need to replace it with?
-Can I get it at the local hardware store, or the fasteners section of a NAPA?
-Size?
-Anything I need to know about assembly?

Thank you,
IM

Watching this. The black rubber seals on the exterior of both of mine are deteriorating due to exposure to the elements. Want to replace but do not know if just the rubber is available. New ones come with new handles of course but do not want or need new handles.

Thanks V.

I think I can use a 1" nylon washer, I'll just trace the hole of the original.

I went to Lowe's today and I'll never do that again: There is some kind of solar camera at the entrance that reminds me of a Flock/reader. Go to the check-out but there was no check-out, just that self-checkout crap. The sign above has invader/mexican language on it. And as I am putting the item back and leaving, there is a woman with blue hair manning the front door. Lowe's can go hang out with Bud-Light.

The vent goes together like this..  the individual parts are not sold separately.
