I'm a big fan of Microsoft, but sometimes they do colossally stupid things. Take this thread for instance, which used to have many beautiful pictures of my wonderful Suburban. Now, the photos are gone. It's unclear why, but others are also asking MS why their OneDrive-hosted photos have disappeared from their discussion board posts. Maybe someday MS will fix this. Then I'll post pics of my new radiator swap currently in progress. I guess we'll see how it goes. In the meantime, try to imagine shiny aluminum happiness, and have a Merry Christmas!

What pics are missing? I spot checked a few pages and there wasn't any missing on those. If you link to outside sources we have no control over those links.
-
So they're only missing for me? How does that even happen?
-
I split this off to not take away from the original topic here: http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=31306
What pictures are not showing up? What page?
-
Oh, okay thanks. I thought I'd had a senior moment there for a second lol.
I'm still trying to figure this out. When I look at my "New Truck in the Drive" thread (http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=31306.msg262838#msg262838 (http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=31306.msg262838#msg262838)), I don't see any of my pictures at all. I guess that's only happening on my end. Which is completely weird. I'm pretty sure it's a Microsoft thing because it's happening on 2 different discussion boards with my OneDrive hosted pics. If I'm the only one who can't see them, then I'll stress a little less about it. I did open a trouble ticket with OneDrive about it, so I'll see what happens.
Thanks for your concern. You guys rock!

Well, my pics show up fine if I use Firefox. I guess this is just an Edge issue. MS is working on it...
-
Chris, is there any way you can help me with this?

I've been ignoring it for months, and as a cybersecurity guy, I probably shouldn't. :(

This warning is because this site is not HTTPS.
-
And thus, exposes the password I use to log in.
-
If I ignore the warnings above and proceed anyway, I end up here, somehow.

CyberSecurity Guy here too. This is MS and Google trying to force everything to use https. It's a forum, I would HOPE that everyone that has joined here uses a completely different and long password for the login than any other id/pwd. I am sure at some point in time I am going to be forced to make this a secure site but it will ALWAYS be public for anyone to read and get whatever you are posting for free which is kinda counter to getting into your account. but open for opinions.
BTW I see pictures on that link.
-
I prefer to use the same simple password for all of my logins and especially to match all of my financial banking! LOL

It's your site, of course, and you should run it the way you think is right. HTTPS isn't blocking public access, of course. It's just preventing everyone in the room from looking over your shoulder as you interact with the site. Ease and openness are important, but you have to balance that against the various alarms that users encounter. I have to dismiss 2 different warnings to get here. Even then, I still get steered to the wrong place. In web search results, I have to ignore the red shield that appears next to the site. The result is that I have to be very determined just to get here. Also consider that more sensitive and unpredictable discussions are happening in the Private Messages. Maybe it's not appropriate to expose those to every server that handles them? Just some things to think about.
Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone!

I would agree with the need for added security. The reason all of my photos vanished again after the whole photobucket fail was due to the google security update that blocked this site.
-
I am looking into this relative to the current unstableness of the site. Just trying to get it stable prior so I can get it upgraded and moved if possible.
-
Well, I cleared my cache and my photos are back! Freakin' Microsoft LOL.
