Title: motor mount question
Post by: revevans3 on May 12, 2025, 10:45:29 pm
81 short bed, 5.3LS, 4L80e. I'm having trouble getting my pinion angle correct as my 4L80 is up as high as it will go and the angle is still out by 3-4 degrees. I'm currently using ICT Billet motor mounts and wondered if anyone has a suggestion for lower profile motor mounts?  Thx

What is the angle at the Trans?  What is the angle operating angle of the driveshaft?  What is the angle of the pinion?
How are you measuring the angles and where?

Video on what I am talking about: https://spicerparts.com/calculators/driveline-operating-angle-calculator

thx for the reply. I've read and watched the spicer stuff which is what I'm following, at the moment my rear end (10 bolt gmc w/373 gears) is up at 2 degrees while my transmission is down at 6 degrees and the trans is hitting the tunnel. am I doing something wrong here? thx again

I'm measuring the angles on the flat part of the yoke.

Stock height, lowered?  If lowered howin the rear?  Who's trans mount for the 4L80E?
If the trans angles down 6, and the Yoke is 2 degrees up, what is the Driveshaft angle?
