Title: Help with shocks
Post by: 01txdmax on December 03, 2025, 10:54:41 pm
Hi everyone, I'm struggling to identify the shocks I really need from 2000 miles from my truck.

1983 K30, 10k GVW, stock springs

All the configurators I find say this truck should take the same as the 1/2 tons by length, but that doesn't check out in my mind.

I just need a set of simple shocks to get the truck back on the road for a while before I do more. More might mean a bunch of things, so I'm thinking Monroe, KYB, etc but not $100 at a pop Bilsteins or others. I'm on the hunt because I pulled a 4" lift off of it and put the stock ride height springs in it, now those shocks are bottomed out.

Does anyone have any insight into part numbers or a reliable place to go find the right stuff?
Thanks
