Title: 4wd conversion front end lift???

hey i'm lookin at a 1978 cheyenne 1/2 ton and it is titled as a two wheel drive but it has a 4wd conversion in it... anyone know anything like if these are dependable and i am wanting to lift the front to match the back cause they sit weird... will this throw the front out of wack or what ... thanx

Is it a conversion kit, or did the guy put a 2WD body on a 4WD frame?

I'm with Smokin.  I suspect it was only a cab swap.  If so, the lift will be a snap.  Normal procedure.

A conversion can be done, but it is a real pain in the neck, so it's highly unlikely that is the case with your truck.  I have done 2, and both of them were on crewcabs, simply because they were hard to find in the area in 4wd.   You can find a 4wd half-ton, oh, anywhere...  LOL

I just talked to a budy of mine and he was telling me that a kid down the road from him converted a two wheel drive frame to fourwheel drive and can't understand why the back end sits lower. The shackles for the rear springs are shorter on a two wheel drive.
