Title: Charcoal Canister
Post by: BlakeMcAlavy on February 16, 2006, 06:55:00 pm
I was wondering, since there is lines, from the carb to the canister, IF i wanted to get rid of the canister what would i do with the lines from the carb, cap them off?
Because Im wanting to put a fuel cell in the bad, already have it, and im just goin to run a loop towards the ground from the cell instead of the canister.?

You can always cap off the vacuum lines you don't want to use.  Just go to a auto parts store and get the rubber cap ends....different sizes.

Here in Phoenix AZ they check to make sure you have a charcoal canister when you run through emissions. So if you have emissions testing where you live check to see if you have to have it first before trashing it.:rolleyes

We don't have to either here in Richmond, Va, but I am keeping all the stuff stock just in case.  You never know,  one day....

Here in Texas they only require anything between 2 and 24 years to have the testing... my 76 is exempt. But the testing is only in the major cities like Austin which im near, Dallas, and Houston. If I missed any others just correct me.
