Title: np208 27 spline to 32 spline
Post by: js9234 on March 17, 2006, 04:37:00 pm
I need a np208 with 32 spline but all I can find is 27 spline. My casing is just cracked and everything else is good. Can I use a 27 spline transfer case and put the spline shaft(whatever it's called) on from mine to make it 32 spline?

I would think that the case itself would be the same, but I cannot be 100 percent certain.

Yes they are the same. While your in there it wouldn't hurt to put new bushings and bearings in as well mabey even a chain. I buy my 208 kits from Trans Star in Salem N.H. The last one I bought with a chain If I remeber correctlywas around $150. They are pretty easy to rebuild. I don't have one puller but a budy of mine that works at a machine shop does so I have him pulll and press one of the bushings in the case. the rest are all push through, and push in.
