I am building a 56 truck(4 x 4) with later model running gear. I will be using a FI 350, a 700 R4, 341 Transfer case, and would like to use a front end with cross link (not drag link) steering. Naturally I want a 3/4 or 1 ton front end with 8 lugs. Can anyone help?

Not sure but it sounds like you are talking about the way a 1 ton steering is set up. Do you mean crossover steering, where the stearing box turns the left knuckle and the left knuckle steers the right knuckle via the tie rod?

The solid axle Ackerman desing uses a drag link that runs longitudinally front to rear. It connects the pitman arm to the steering arm on the knuckle.

The crossover steering design also uses a drag link but it runs transversely from the pitman arm to the tie rod assy.
Here is a write up...

If I was going to bother converting I would go to Rack & Pinion
