Title: How Strong Would this be?
Post by: 1976Scottsdale on January 20, 2007, 09:00:00 am
I just got yet another truck.  My uncle is paying me to put an engine in his 1985 K-10.  I will be using the engine that is in his 73-80 K-10 SWB for his swap.  He is giving me what is left of the truck.  The truck is pretty rough, but it sparked my interest because it is all original, right down to the paint, which is Chevrolet Orange... sweet.  The TH350 will be coming out.  I am going to be doing a motor swap in a customer's 1974 3/4 ton.  She wants me to put a small block in it.  As payment, she is giving me the 454 crate engine that is in it.  It is very strong, she just hates 7 MPG.  I was thinking of putting the 454 and my TH400/NP203 full time setup in the orange SWB 4x4.  Would that be strong... possibly with a swap of my 4.10 locker front and rear axles going in?

Only strong up untill you find a breaking point. I personally would convert the 203 to part time or better yet get a 205. All that work why not put a ff 14 bolt and a Dana 60 in it?

Those items are a bit tough to locate where I live.  I might have to buy my set back.  The guy said he would sell them back for the same $125.00 that I sold them to him for.  Cheap, I know, but I needed the money(and for the cops to stop bugging me about my parts truck)
