Title: T-case keeps slipping

Everytime i put my 87 Custom deluxe in 4wd it always slips out with in 10ft. It only happens in 4 high I can put the truck in 4low and it is fine. Any help will be appriciated.

This might be silly but, when you shift it in 4wd, do you line the shifter indicator right over the 4wdhi, or just shift it all the ways down and not quite over the indicator? I a few times when I first got my 85 K10 I'd slam the shifter quickly into 4wdhi and it would slip out and make bad noises. Then I carefully shifted it and I could feel when I got in right. Maybe its just me :p

my would slip out when i drove in 4hi and finally it got stuck in 4low. so i took the transfercase apart and it had a chewed up range fork.
