Almost ready to take my GMC truck for a spin, I've never own a 4x4 before and was wondering on what the procedure is for t-case operation, Do I have to put the transmission in park, neutral, etc?
Thanks!

you can shift in to 4-wheel drive in any gear. although the tires shouldnt be spinning outta control, or above 45 mph. you can operate above 45 but not recomened. if you want to use the low range, you should be at at complete stop when shifting to low range.

Yes you can shift the t-case in any gear but it is easiest to shift when you are in neutral.
