Title: i bought a newer truck
Post by: aprice on January 20, 2005, 11:06:00 pm
i recently bought a 1980 Chevy K20 with a  350 and 205 t-case. i had to redo the brakes, and lines, and still trying to fix the wiring so the tail lights work right.

the front left axle shaft was broke from a wore out u-joint and i cant seem to find the right spline count. anyone know which trucks had the danna 44 with the 28 spline axles, all i have found were the 30 spline axles.

i put new rear brakes in and figured since its a full floating rear end it would have the same size brakes as my mud truck but found instead the 11 inch brake. werent all the full floaters 13 inch brakes, and not to mention i have what they consider the hevy duty front rotors and pads.

also the truck was parked for a while cause of the broken axle shaft. when shifting i have a hard timefinding the gears sometimes. what would cause this? lack of being driven or needing new gear lube in it.

I ma be wrong but I belive the 1 tons had 13" brakes and the 3/4 tons had 11" brakes.

that could be although my mud truck has 13" brakes and i have 3/4 axles under that, unless it depended on the gvw, cause my mud truck was a camper special

Many of the 3/4 trucks had 11" brakes.
