Title: Axle swap
Post by: 77DuallyCowboy on April 10, 2005, 10:11:00 pm
Well now that im up and suckin fuel again, Im going to change my bed (er what is left of it) my donor truck is an 88 v3500 crewcab dually 4x4 i know the bed will go on just fine, but dually fenders w/o duals just aint right. Will the rear axle "BOLT" right in? or is there differences between the 78 k20 spring mounts, and shock mounts? and same for the front.

What are you wanting to swap from/to?  You question is a little vague?
C10 vs C20 axle spacing is not the same though, expecially for a dually.

Sorry bout that. The truck that i want to swap the axles in is a 78 chevy k20. My donor truck is a 88 gmc v3500 (old body) crewcab dually 4x4. The front is a Dana 60 in the dually, and dana 44 in the 78, i want the dana 60 in my 78. and the rear dana 70 from the dually to go in the 78 in place of the FF 14bolt. Sorry for any confusion.

The axle perch spacing on the dually will be different than the K20, but you should be able to swap it with some work.
