Title: 85 c10 305, esc disable?

hey all, im new to this,,, let me see, i have a 85 c 10 305 CD, that i have just got,,, ive removed all factory emiisions that will be removed easily,,, now im curious about disabling the spark control, and ecm on my truck,, i thought there were a few wires you could tie together to do this,,, anyone know what i mean eh?

Your truck will not run if you disconect the ecm. You need to swap in an older distributor, & carb. if you don't want computer.
Whats the reson for this if your computer works why not keep running it. I have retrofited computer controled rigs before but because the computer craped out.

im not worried about the ecm,, but id like to disable the esc,, i have a small pingsing on take off,, but other than that the truck runs atrong,,, its a 85 c 10 custom d with a 305 ,, m65(4speed)?, and a 208,, with 10 bolts and 373's, ive removed all smog equipment, and installed a 600 edelbrock performer ,and a stock distributor,,
ive heard that i can bypass the esc by tieing to wires together,,, i would like to try this, and disable my esc, to see if that helps the ping,,

Why not just check to see if the timing is over advanced?

Timing is set at 10.5 - 11 btc,, with is about right for 600 feet elev,.. runs for me there anyway,, new plugs gaped at .45,, new tune up pieces, idle at about 600, elec fan, edel 600 perform.
maybe i outta try some cooler plugs? what does that mean ? ive got bosch platinums in it right now.

:rolleyes oh yes that is what i was looking for,, i will try it next,, if that dont work, its gasoline and matches for that engine..
