Post by: 123 pugsy on April 02, 2006, 10:43:00 am
How do you get a wheel off when after you take off the lug nuts and it won't budge?

soak it with some penetrating oil. Place one lug nut back on loosely, spin it and smack the back side with a 3lb sledge.

A couple of squirts of WD40 at each lug and a couple of shots with my hands and off it came .Thanks for the tip.

You jack it up first.

Well, there are to ways that I use: 1-the back kick... kick the rim with the back of your shoe while jacked up. 2-put a fence post on the back of the rim from the other side of the truck and hit it with a B.F.H.

yea i gotta say kick it...and if that dont work get mad at it ...a 100 pound tool box getting hurld at it works also..But anyways Kicking does work i mean u never want to sit in front of it and try to pull on it...be safe and smart.

I read somewhere that a guy put the 5 lugnuts on loosely and drove in circles.

my auto shop teacher had the same problem on a 75 c10 like mine. not even driving with no lugs worked. so he had to torch it. it happens because of the tigth clearence between the rim and the spindal. so i suggest when you can, put anti-seize alover the contact points.
