Title: gas gauge wiring help
Post by: Leadfoot on May 02, 2006, 02:01:00 pm
I need some wiring help.. my `82 truck came with the dual tanks..I have done away with both tanks and the switching valve and installed a suburban tank in the back between the frame rails.. the new tank only has the ground and the pink wire from the sending unit, anybody got an idea where I need to hook this in to the original wiring to get a functional gas gauge??

Thanks,
Tim

The switching valve should have had a sending wire to it and each tank should have had a ground running to the frame rail.  If you know where the wire is for the sending unit, then you can just hook it back up.  As for the ground, just ground it to the frame.  I was thinking the sending wire was brown...
