My trucks AC is not running cold. I checked and found the freon was low and I'm sure its r12. I was told I could introduce Freeze12 to the system with no problem. The questions are. Can I do it myself and should I evacuate the old r12 first? Any experience with this product would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I put Freeze 12 in a Toyota that had R12 in it. Pulled a vaccuum then filled it full with 2 cans. Kept the same oil in the compressor. I am not sure if you can mix R12 and Freeze12 or not. Maybe someone else knows.

How did you vacuum the system and keep the oil in the compressor. When you vacuum the system you not only remove moisture in the system by causing it to boil but refrigerant oil is also lost. You typically lose 4-8 oz of oil during recovery and vacuuming. Your system is probably low on oil!
Original post - Freeze 12 is supposed to be compatible but check the system's operating pressures using a manifold gauge set before you add anything.
