Title: What does NOS mean (not nitrous)

I was reading the Dashes Direct thread, and i can't figure out what everyone means by NOS. Is that a brand, or an acronym?

It means New Old Stock.

Basically, it is a no longer produced factory GM, Ford, Mopar, etc item, that is still new in the box and un-used.
