Title: Help for an Extra battery

I would like to know if I'm right.

I'll soon add a secondary battery just to make I won't drain
the heck out of the 1st.
Mainly because I'll add a winch, already got loads of fog lights
and sound system (soon will have a 300watts power amp with sub).

My question is: When bridging another battery, is it right to just plug it both NEG (batt 1) to NEG (batt 2) and POS (batt 1) to POS (batt 2) ?

Not sure about it and I don't want to fry/blow anything.

My truck is a diesel-to-gaz conversion so I got this extra battery holder ... no tricky solution about where to install the second battery.

You want to hook the batteries up in parallel, not series because series hookup will add 12 volts to 12 volts and give 24 volts output. Here is a good article you might want to read before doing the mod- adding an isolator.- (Scroll down the thread until you see the info about adding an isolator)

Think about it like a battery powered flashlight or radio.  YOur battery cells touch + to - when you put batteries in a row.  That adds 1.5 volts for each new battery you put in.  ie: Four 1.5 volts batteries = 6 volts.   Again, these batteries, whether they are C cells or D cells, or whatever, touch pos. to neg. when you place them in your device.

So, unless you want 24 volts going thru your car system, touch pos. to pos. and neg. to neg. Paralell cicuit.

It is like jump starting your car, you put jumpers pos. to pos. and neg. to neg.  If you put pos. to neg, you will have 24 volts. Not recommended.

(almost ready for the big change soon ! parts from my sierra removed and primed , cant wait to get them on my Frankenstein truck !)

Didn't want to steal the Frankenstein truck name but mine is one of those "Franky" with all those different parts :)

I'll think of a name on my own , once the project will get further ... gotta love working on those Chevys !
