Title: Marker Lights Not Working.
Post by: Bobbo on July 22, 2006, 01:50:00 pm
Ok first off I have an 87 GMC 1/2 ton, I put in the euro headlights (4) and they all work great.

Now my marker lights were working, then they became dim, now they dont.

I checked the brown wire running from the side marker and it had like 1 volt to it, I traced it to the headlight switch, still only 1 volt, I took the switch out and checked it on the battery with a hot wire, and the switch itself is good.

I did some testing on the incoming wires for the switch and I have a constant 12 V on the large red, but on this orange wire I am getting about 1 volt???  I dont know much about wiring so i am pretty lost.

Any help is appreciated.  Bob

your marker lights aren't working as in your license plate lights? Or are you talking about the parking lights?

It was all my marker lights/signal lights/ tail lights.  After I pluged everything back in it all worked again, so my problem is likely with corrosion on the main plug in on the firewall.

Thanks, Bob
