Title: what are the vents on top of the dash for?

Well since you live in Phoenix you wouldn't know what those are for. They are for defrosting your windshield in cold weather. Back in Ohio where I came from you definately needed them. I have lived in Phoenix now for almost 7 years and never once had my windshield frost over. Therefore I can see why you don't know what they are. As long as you stay in Phoenix you can eliminate them.

Or Va. I definately use defrost here in winter time. In fact, it wont pass inspection w/out defrost.
