Title: Suburban Dually
Post by: thirstycanadian on August 10, 2006, 10:11:00 pm
I'm hoping someone on here has some info on this topic because it is still a mystery to me.  Did General Motors produce a Suburban with dual wheels during the '73-'91 run (or any other time for that matter)?  I have seen one on the road, years ago, plus the black one in the movie 'Twister'.  It seems like a relatively straight forward custom job to me, but I have heard that at one point it was a rare factory option.

This is something that has bugged me for quite a while, any info on this or other such oddities?

GM did not make such an animal.  I have seen a few though...pretty neat if you ask me.

That is really cool...I've never seen anything like that.

there used to be one here that was dropped pretty low, but instead of 4 tires in the back, they had 2 huge mickeys, it looked sweet

I seen 1 here in florida, it was a mid 80s suburban that was black primer and was jacked up like 6 inches and had 4x4 style tires on it, it was wild i`ll say  i havent seen it around but i think it still exists, if i find it i`ll take pics of it..
