my gas gauge stop working right one day while driveing down the highway now it reads horazontally past full.
if i shut it of and come back the needle rests at 3/4 tank, but as soon as i turn the key to run its right back to horazontally past full. people say its a bad ground. but i checked it its just fine. and i have a 80 parts truck with a working gauge. i swaped sendig units - nothing, then gauges - still the same thing. and the gauge has power that why it moves and returns its self, even if you spin it.
so what is it, dose any one know? could it be the green? a plug? what, because i cant figure it out and it has been over a month. i give up!!!!!!!!!!

Try another sending unit.Did you test the ground at the sending unit with a test light to make sure ?
Had the exact same problem. It wasn't the ground. It was the sending unit.
